When I was travelling in New York I have been walking around the High line Park, a beautiful park in the island of Manhattan starting in 14 street and ending in West 30 street. The acces to the High Line is possible via elevator (wheelchair accessible) and stair. The High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. It is owned by the city of New York, and maintained and operated by Friends of the High Line.
Founded in 1999 by community residents, Friends of the High Line fought for the High Lines’ preservation and transformation at a time when the historic structure was under the threat of demolition.
When you walk around the park it’s incredible, because you feel it isn’t real. It’s like walking in an imaginary project of some architect. As if I were walking in a fiction project, but in New York it’s real. It’s a dream come true. You feel you are walking in the sky in some parts. You can sit there on comfortable seats. When you are crossing the bridge you feel part of the buildings.
